Acclaim
92 Points - "Ripe and jammy, but with great structure. Shows luscious aromas of boysenberry and blueberry, with layered, complex flavors of licorice, nutmeg and toasty mocha that linger on the finish. Drink now through 2015." - Tim Fish, Wine Spectator, June 2009
91 Points - "Ruby-red. Black raspberry, smoked meat and flowers on the nose. Graceful red and dark berry flavors stain the palate without conveying any excess weight. Extremely fresh and focused zinfandel with excellent finishing clarity and spiciness. There's a pinot-like quality to this wine that's very appealing." - Josh Raynolds, Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar, May 2009
90 Points - "Hartford Court’s 2007 Zinfandel Russian River reveals gorgeous sweet black cherry fruit, medium to full body, loads of spice, supple tannins, and that fresh exuberance that makes Zinfandel so appealing. Enjoy it over the next 3-4 years. " - Robert M. Parker Jr., Wine Advocate, December 2008

Vineyard Character
The Hartford Russian River Valley Zinfandel is a blend of old-vine, dry farmed and low yielding Zinfandel
vineyards from the Russian River Valley. These old vineyards (average vineyard age is about 85+ years) offer an
impressive articulation of this idiosyncratic varietal. Zinfandel grown in the Russian River Valley is distinctive due
to a cool maritime influence. Bright, natural acidity and vibrant fruit aromas and flavors are a result of typically
cool fog-laden nights and warm days. These dry-farmed vineyards, planted on low-fertility soils consistently
produce wines of exceptional density, and legendary extraction. The 2007 Hartford Russian River Valley
Zinfandel is a wine with beautiful depth of flavor and intensity. To preserve exotic spice and sweet berry flavors,
we use the same gentle handling techniques for making Zinfandel that we use with Pinot Noir.
