Old Vine Zinfandel

"The 2022 Fanucchi Wood Road Zinfandel Old Vine is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of juicy blackberries and baked plums on the nose open out to suggestions of unsmoked cigars, dried rose, tilled soil, and wild fungi. The full-bodied palate is dense and muscular, with a rock solid structure of grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and earthy. The vines were planted over 100 years ago and have been trained up to chest level to increase air circulation and sun exposure for the berries. Don and Jennifer Hartford tend this head-trained vineyard in the backyard of their home.
